Month 1 - 23 April to 23 May 2018

One month gone… And yes, we’re still alive! And no, we’re not bored yet!
We spent the first three weeks in the Netherlands, with family and friends.
Obviously our parents were very happy to see us again.
We caught up with some long-time friends; with lots of beer, wine, food, laughs and love.
On 8th May we celebrated my dad’s 68th birthday, on a beautiful sunny day. With my dad, mum, sister, brother-in-law and little 2.5 year old niece it was a very joyful family event.
Together we made a delicious home cooked Italian dinner with insalata caprese for ‘antipasto’, lasagne for ‘primo’, meat and veggies for ‘secondo’ and panna cotta for ‘dolce’.
While in the Netherlands, we also bought a small campervan to travel over the next 8 months.
On 15th May we drove with this campervan via Breda, Tilburg, Eindhoven, Venlo (Netherlands) and Koblenz, Karlsruhe (Germany) to Neuenburg in south Germany where we stayed overnight.
On 16th May we continued our road trip via Basel, Luzern (Switzerland) and Milano, Genova (Italy) and arrived in Quinto al Mare around 3:00 PM.
It’s great to be back at the place where I have so many beautiful memories of my family and summer holidays. My parents are here in Quinto as well and together we started the search for a new kitchen and bathroom.
Because we have to get used to the Italian way of doing things (“domani, domani”), we also spent a few days enjoying the beautiful scenery in the Liguria region, walking along the coast to Nervi and Bogliasco.
